Important: This article applies only to email on DirectAdmin web hosting accounts. If you use the Hosted Email service, manage mailboxes in that service instead.
Create the mailbox
- Sign in to DirectAdmin.
- Open the email section, typically E-mail Manager and then E-mail Accounts. Labels can differ between panel versions and themes; use the panel search if you cannot find them.
- Choose to create a new account.
- Pick the mailbox name for one of the domains on the account.
- Set a strong password.
- Set a mailbox quota if the panel offers that option on your service, then confirm.
Record the full mailbox address and password somewhere secure. If the password is lost later, set a new one in DirectAdmin.
After creation
- Set up the mailbox in a mail app with the IMAP setup article (record 5327) and the SMTP setup article (record 5320).
- Or sign in through webmail; see the webmail access article (record 4755).
