A domain alias delivers mail for a second domain to matching email accounts on your primary Hosted Email domain.
For example, if example.net is an alias of example.com, mail for sales@example.net is delivered to sales@example.com. You do not need to create every address twice.
Add a domain alias
- Open your Hosted Email service in the ArkHost Client Area.
- Open the Aliases tab.
- Find Domain Aliases and select Add Domain Alias.
- Enter the additional domain name.
- Confirm that the displayed destination is your primary Hosted Email domain.
- Select Add Domain Alias.
Configure the additional domain's DNS
The alias domain must use the same mail-server targets as the primary domain. Configure its MX, SPF and DMARC records according to the guidance shown in the service. Contact ArkHost Support if you are unsure how to adapt the records for the additional domain.
Remove a domain alias
Select the bin button beside the alias domain and confirm. Mail sent to that domain will stop being routed to the primary domain.
